Reconciliation Week activities in Victor Harbor will finish up with a free community barbecue on Sunday 6 June.
The theme for Reconciliation Week 2021 is More Than a Word.
It recognises the need for reconciliation to actively address issues of inequality, systemic racism and instances where the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are denied.
It encourages Australians to move beyond merely having an awareness of reconciliation and begin to take real action.
City of Victor Harbor staff will host a barbecue lunch to explore and share ideas for council’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
All are welcome to this informal community gathering and encouraged to participate in a discussion on the topic of reconciliation.
The barbecue will be held at 12noon at Muwerang-Kent Reserve. RSVP via email.

“This here is Ramindjeri-Ngarrindjeri land. When you tread, you should think of the Ramindjeri-Ngarrindjeri people. They are the first custodians of this land.”
