The District Council of Yankalilla has announced a significant milestone for the community with the signing of an agreement to deliver a long-awaited new dog park at Bungala Reserve, in Normanville.

Under this agreement, the Friends of Normanville/Yankalilla Dog Park Committee will lead and fund construction of the facility, with works scheduled to start this month and continue through January and February. 

Once completed, the council will assume responsibility for long-term maintenance and asset management, ensuring the dog park remains a safe, accessible, and well-maintained space for residents and visitors.

The council says this agreement provides the committee with the formal backing needed to secure additional funding and begin construction. 

The new dog park will create a dedicated space for dogs to exercise and socialise, while fostering community connection and promoting responsible pet ownership.
