Community group plans big year ahead

After some setbacks at the end of last year, the volunteers of Goolwa Community Association are determined to bounce back better than ever in 2025.

It will hold its first meeting for the year on Wednesday 29 January at the Goolwa Church of Christ at 7pm.

The group’s mission is to help support a connected community through community-run events.

After a huge effort of planning and coordination, involving hundreds of participants, the last minute cancellation of its 2024 Christmas Pageant and Festival due to extreme heat was a major disappointment.

To avoid a repeat this year the Community Association plans to split its Christmas festivities over two events, with a morning pageant proposed for Sunday 7 December and a Christmas Festival at the Wharf Precinct on the evening of Saturday 20 December.

They are also planning evening events at the Wharf Precinct in mid-April and on New Year’s Eve.

The community is invited to get involved by going along to meetings on the fourth Monday of each month, or contacting the association via email.
