Alexandrina Council will host a community planting Day at the Milang Soldiers Memorial Gardens next Wednesday 13 August.
The council has previously removed some rosemary hedges and rose bushes that had reached their end of life and were in poor condition.
It says the garden areas are now ready for replanting with new stock of selected rosemary.
Rosemary is a traditional symbol of remembrance; its aroma has been associated with stimulating memory since ancient times, according to the Australian War Memorial.
Milang residents and others with a keen interest in the Soldiers Memorial Gardens are invited to join in the planting day.
They are advised to wear comfortable outdoor clothing and enclosed shoes suitable for gardening activities with the council providing gloves, spades and any required personal protection equipment.
The planting day is set for 10am to 2pm, but may be rescheduled if the weather deters. The council would like people to register their intention to attend via email.
