Conservation Volunteers Australia will hold community revegetation events throughout the Yankalilla region during August.
Two sessions have been scheduled for Cape Jervis, on Saturday 7 and Monday 9 August, with one at Wirrina on Sunday 8 August.
At Cape Jervis the focus is on Bringing Back the Glossies, revegetating the sheoak habitat that once existed around the area.
This habitat is vital for the Glossy Black Cockatoo, an endangered bird that lost much of its habitat in the Kangaroo Island Bushfires.
At Wirrina the group will rehabilitate habitat for the Western Pygmy Possum and monitor nest boxes to determine where they are living on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
No experience is necessary to take part in the revegetation projects, just a willingness to make a difference.
Volunteers can go along for as long as they like; site inductions will start at 10am each day.
They should wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts and take along gloves, a hat, sunscreen and water. Morning tea and tools will be provided.
