Not-for-profit organisations on the Fleurieu have the opportunity to apply for up to $10,000 as part of Australia Post’s 2021 Community Grants program.
Organisations can apply with locally led and delivered projects that have a primary purpose of improving mental health and wellbeing, and helping people meaningfully connect.
Amber Collins, Australia Post Chief Marketing Officer, says events like the global pandemic, fires and floods have highlighted the importance of improving and maintaining mental wellbeing.
“Our Grants program will fund projects that help build connection between individuals and their community and that encourage open and positive conversations around mental health,” Ms Collins says.
Australia Post has partnered with Beyond Blue this year to show the impact the grants program can have in local communities.
“We want to support organisations that are helping build community connection through projects with a clear focus on mental health. We know that when people in communities connect, they feel better,” Ms Collins says.
In 2020, more than half the grants were made to successful organisations in regional and remote locations.
Applications close on 4 July and applicants will be notified if they are successful or not in September.
Eligible community organisations can apply online.
