Council calls for environment advisers

Alexandrina Council is looking for community representatives to join its Climate Emergency and Environment Committee.


A formal committee, established under Section 41 of the Local Government Act, its main role is to provide advice on the implementation of the council’s Climate Emergency Declaration, its Environmental Action Plan, and associated plans, strategies, and policies.


The committee will work collaboratively with the council administration and help set key priorities.


The membership of the committee will consist of two councillors, one independent Chairperson, and up to eight community members. 


Current council member representatives are West ward councillor Bill Coomans and South ward councillor Milli Livingston.


The council is encouraging a diverse range of people to apply, including First Nations People, younger people and students.

The deadline for completed application forms with accompanying CV is 5pm on Friday, 24 March.
