Council concerned with food security

Onkaparinga Council is asking all residents over the age of 18 to contribute to its Putting Food on the Table survey to build a picture of food security in the area.

It has designed an anonymous survey to help it better understand issues relating to putting food on the table at home.

The council wants to hear from as many people as possible on the issue, whether or not they have experience of food insecurity.

It says food is a fundamental human right, but cost of living pressures are making this more challenging for some households.

The survey asks about access to food, the impact of rising costs and any challenges involved in getting enough to eat on a regular basis.

Responses will help determine the council’s role in ensuring everyone in the community has access to healthy and affordable food options.

The survey can be found, along with further information, on the Onkaparinga Council website and will be available until 27 August.
