Cove Cobras women move inside the top four in the Southern Football League

Cove moved inside the top four on the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) ladder after defeating Hackham by 107 points on Sunday during round five action at Hallett Cove. The Cobras led by 29 points at quarter time, 45 points at halftime and 81 points at the last change before winning 15.18 (108) to 0.1 (1). Edith Kosztovits kicked five goals for the Cobras and she was well supported by Felicity Oliver (4) and Alesia Leduff (3). Best players for Cove were Oliver, Kosztovits, Mikala Graham, Renee Ullrich and Dana O’Brien. The consistent Alana Browne was best for Hackham along with Hannah Crump, Courtnie Noble, Stacey Deans and Katelyn Hayes-Phillips.


Reynella maintained their undefeated start to the season with a comfortable 103-point victory against Aldinga at Reynella Oval yesterday, The Wine Flies led by 46 points at halftime before kicking a further eight goals to zero in the second half to win 15.13 (103) to 0.0 (0). Rebecca Denyer continued her good recent goalkicking form as she slotted four goals for Reynella to give her 17 majors in her past three outings. Emily Woods also chimed in three goals of her own. Caitlin Williams, Woods, Ella Besley, Grace Doran and Renee Wurfel were the best performing Reynella players. For Aldinga, Eilish O’Hanlon, India Hamdorf, Vanessa Chambers, Jemma Looyesten and Kiara Lovett fought it out until the final siren.


Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill consolidated second position with a 52-point home win against Port Noarlunga. ‘Flaggies’ won every quarter to win 8.11 (59) to 1.1 (7). Rachel Crockart, Zoe Walker-Roberts and Emily Brockhurst all kicked two goals for the Falcons while Genevieve Lawless kicked Port Noarlunga’s only major. Crockart, Isobel Dyson, Walker-Roberts, Emma Sjoberg and Riley Mitchell were the best players for the Falcons. The Cockle Divers were best served by Kaiya Ivett, Madison Harris, Belinda Gale, Bridie Nye and Colette Barnard.
