Crashed car abandoned on Southern Expressway

A man lost his licence for 12 months and will be summonsed to Court after dumping his car at Old Noarlunga this morning.

About 1.40am Sunday 20 November police were called to the Southern Expressway after several members of the public reported that a Toyota Corolla with front end damage was facing the wrong way on the road. Members of the public provided a description of a man seen walking away from the car.

Police attended and searched the area before going to the registered owner’s address where they located a man matching the description of the driver. The 30-year-old Seaford Rise man allegedly refused to comply with breath analysis test so lost his licence on the spot for 12 months. Checks revealed he also had an expired drivers licence.

The man was reported for fail to comply with breath analysis test, expired licence and leaving the scene of an accident. His car was towed from the scene and impounded for 28 days. The man will be summonsed to appear at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date.

Anyone with further information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
