Cyber crime prevention seminar

Cyber security is front of mind for many and the Victor Harbor library will host a drop in session and a seminar to offer concerned people the tools they need.

South Australia Police (SAPOL) officers will be at the library on Wednesday 23 November from 9.30am to 12noon for an informal drop in session to answer questions about cyber security and safety.

The cyber crime prevention seminar will be held on Friday 2 December from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Probationary Constable James Moschis will pass on some tips and tricks to improve cyber security.

He will discuss how to recognise scams that can come through emails, phone calls, text messages or letters.

Scammers can be very convincing and invent seemingly legitimate reasons to make people part with money.

Probationary Constable Moschis will advise on ways to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a Cyber Crime.

Both the drop in session and the seminar are free, but reserve a place at the seminar via Eventbrite.

SAPOL says it is committed to working in partnership with the community to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime to ensure that South Australia is a safe place to live, visit and do business.
