Dead fish photos wanted for citizen science

An international citizen science organisation is calling for images of the dead marine life washed up on south coast beaches following the River Murray floods.

The iNaturalist online community records and shares observations of plants and animals across the world.

Over recent weeks, large numbers of marine and freshwater species have been washed ashore from Goolwa beach to Encounter Bay.

Landscapes Hills & Fleurieu is encouraging beach visitors who have taken photos to help capture this information and upload images of individual species to the iNaturalist.org App.

This will help to identify the species affected and capture the scale of the event as images that show good detail of the individual species make identification much easier.

To get involved visit the iNaturalist website and start uploading photos.
