Deciding the future of The Bluff

The City of Victor Harbor has developed a master plan for The Bluff and has started the final stage of community consultation on its vision for the iconic local landmark.

Also known as Rosetta Head or Kongkenggurwarr, the council says The Bluff has significant environmental, economic, heritage and cultural value.

The master plan is intended to be a tool to help protect what the community most values about The Bluff, as well as identifying opportunities to improve it.

The council has conducted a lengthy consultation process, hearing from more than 900 individuals, groups and organisations.

It says some clear themes emerged from the consultation exercise around limiting development but making some improvements that are sympathetic to the natural environment.

These include making trails safer, providing more seating and re-wilding areas.

The council is now calling for community feedback on the completed draft master plan, which can be accessed on the City of Victor Harbor website.

It will also hold a community drop-in session with the project team on Wednesday, 18 January from 10am-12pm at the Civic Centre on Bay Road.

The consultation period closes at 5pm on Friday 3 February.
