Willunga took out the minor premiership after a thrilling three-point win over McLaren Districts during round 14 action in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Strathalbyn on Sunday. The two teams will clash again at Strathalbyn on Sunday in the qualifying final with the winner to progress straight through to the Grand Final on the 11th of August. On Sunday, the reigning premier prevailed 5.4 (34) to 4.7 (31). Best players for Willunga were Kirstin Remfrey, Bella Rigby, Ada Anninos, Cleo Guilfoyle, Emma Leask and Jessica Kirk. Best for the Eagles included Abby Woodward (2 goals), Caitlin Ross, Layla Rogers, Lisa Whiteley, Makenzie Bryowsky and Jessica Hutton.


Myponga-Sellicks have finished the season in style with back-to-back wins following their five-point win against Yankalilla/Encounter Bay at Strathalbyn on Sunday. The Mudlarks led by seven points at halftime, before running out winners 3.4 (22) to 2.5 (17). Tasiah Wright kicked two goals for Myponga-Sellicks, while Laura Niejalke also kicked two goals for the Stingrays. Best players for the Mudlarks included Nari Wright, Molly Agnew, Tasiah Wright, Kiarna Falzon, Elsie Upton and Kailey Webb, while best for Yankalilla/Encounter Bay were Niejalke, Tyler Rigney-Garrett, Lily Jenke, Bella Walden, Sienna Bull and Tanya Littlely.


Goolwa/Port Elliot warmed up for the finals series with a comfortable 42-point win against Victor Harbor last Friday night. The Magpies won every quarter on their way to a 5.12 (42) to 0.0 (0) victory. Ellie Fry kicked two goals in a best-on-ground performance for the Magpies and she was well supported by Indigo Miller, Jessica Bailey, Kerrie-Ann moon, Kalani Bates and Taylor Kennedy. Best players for the ‘Roos included Lucy Rubie, Rebecca Baga, Aloura Kirk, Georgia Perry and Georgia Garrett.
