The Willunga Environment Centre will host a tour of two of the Willunga Basin’s iconic wetlands next Saturday 9 April.

Paul Green will lead the tours of Hart Road wetland and the Washpool, in Aldinga Scrub, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Hart Road wetland is a constructed wetland designed to capture and treat storm water on the northern edge of Aldinga Scrub.

The Washpool is a natural brackish wetland on the southern side of Aldinga Scrub.

Paul will help to identify the aquatic plants and talk about their ecological functions.

Join the tour at Hart Road wetland at 2pm at the carpark at the southern end of Rowley Road, Aldinga Beach. The meeting point is not accessible via Hart Road itself.

Participants don’t need to have attended Paul’s earlier talk on aquatic plants of the Willunga Basin to attend this tour.

They should bring wet weather gear, waterproof footwear, water and snacks, with binoculars, camera and field guides optional.

The wetlands tour has been supported by Sustainable Onkaparinga.
