Strathalbyn Community Centre will host a workshop and tasting session on native foods, Discover, Taste, Grow: Native Foods with Neville Bonney on Tuesday 2 December.
It offers the chance to taste something new and be inspired to grow native plants.
Renowned ethnobotanist, author and native food expert Neville Bonney will explore local native food plants, their cultural and ecological value, and how to grow and enjoy them at home.
Karen Shaw will prepare tastings to sample unique flavours of native foods and there will be practical tips for cooking and growing them.
Books, native food products and plants will be available for purchase on the day.
This workshop is a collaboration between Alexandrina Council and Second Nature Conservancy. The Wellness in Nature project is supported by Office for Ageing Well, through the 2024-2025 Age Friendly SA grants program, and also supported by Green Adelaide.
