Willunga have won their second FPAG ‘A’ Grade Women’s Great Southern Football League premiership in a row after defeating McLaren by 65 points in a dominant display at Strathalbyn today. The Demons went through the minor round undefeated and played an excellent finals series with two comfortable wins against the Eagles. Willunga did all the attacking in the first quarter but could only score seven behinds, before kicking two goals in the second quarter to lead by 20 points at halftime. The game completely opened up in the second half with Willunga kicking eight goals to zero to win 10.13 (73) to 1.2 (8). Shae Archbold (3), Courtney Gum (2) and Tessa Kohn (2) were the multiple goalkickers for Willunga, while Jessica Shaw kicked the only goal for McLaren. Caitlin Radbone was named best on ground for the premiers and she was ably supported by Kohn, Lauren Clifton, Katrice Turner, Grace Duffy and Ella Radbone. Best for the Eagles were Sam Pratt, Katie Whish, Tiffany Copley, Layla Rogers, Katrina Munzberg and Ruby Flanagan-Sjoberg. 


The Willunga under 17 girls also won their second premiership in a row after defeating McLaren by 53 points at Strathalbyn. The Demons completed a stunning undefeated season with a dominant display in the decider. The game was as good as over at halftime with the reigning premier holding a commanding 36-point lead at the long break. A further two goals to zero in the second half saw the Demons win 8.7 (55) to 0.2 (2). Emily Steele starred up forward for Willunga with four goals, while Emma Charlton chimed in with two majors. Charlton was named best on ground and she was well supported by Bella Rigby, Steele, Abby Woodward, Emma Comley and Ella Wilson. Best players for the Eagles were Evie Cerullo, Kaysha Dellow, India Roberts, Alyssa Hann, Molly Jenkins and Lilian Booij.
