Hills Fleurieu Police have detected a number of drink and drug drivers over the past several days.


Just before 11.30pm Friday 11th December, police stopped a 44-year-old man from Goolwa North on Cadell St, Goolwa and breath tested him. He returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.086 and was issued with a six month immediate loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in Court at a later date.


Strathalbyn police stopped a 60-year-old man from Cowandilla while driving on Adelaide Rd, Strathalbyn on Saturday 12th December around 5.30pm. The driver was drug tested and he returned a positive test to methamphetamine. He was issued with a 24 hour driver direction and may face drug driving charges pending forensic analysis of the drug test.


Just before 10pm on the same night, police stopped a 21-year-old St Peters man while driving on the Murray Mouth and Goolwa Beach. He was breath tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.158. He was issued with an immediate loss of licence and will have his vehicle impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.


At about 8.30am on 13 December, police stopped a 26-year-old woman from Goolwa on Crozier Rd, Victor Harbor. Checks revealed her licence was disqualified and she was reported. The woman will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.


Victor Harbor patrols stopped a 56-year-old man while driving on Range Rd, Waitpinga, and breath tested him. He returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.131 and had his vehicle impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in Court at a later date.
