A woman has been arrested after she was caught drink driving early this morning.

About 12.15am on Friday 15 September, police were advised that a woman who appeared intoxicated had entered her car after leaving a Victor Harbor hotel and drove off.

Patrols were quickly on scene and caught up with the vehicle on Battye Road at Encounter Bay.

The driver, a 40-year-old local woman, submitted to a breath test where she provided a result on 0.219 – more than four times over the legal limit.

She was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.  She was granted police bail to appear in Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 6 November.  Her car was impounded and she was issued a 12 month immediate loss of licence.
