Multiple drivers have been caught drug driving during a police operation at Christie Downs yesterday afternoon.
On Tuesday 29 July, officers from the Driver Drug Testing unit conducted a testing station on Flaxmill Road where eight drivers returned positive roadside drug tests. Four were positive to methamphetamine, three to cannabis and one to a combination of both.
Checks on one of the drivers revealed that his licence was disqualified and his car was subsequently impounded for 28 days.
Each motorist was issued with a 3-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to court in the coming months.
SAPOL takes a zero-tolerance approach to drink and drug driving and the outcome from this operation highlights that those who choose to ignore the law, will be held accountable.
