A man has been caught drink driving after being stopped at Strathalbyn this morning.

About 1.10am on Friday 7 April, police stopped a Mitsubishi UTE on Rankin Street and breath tested the driver.

The driver, a 21-year-old local man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.233, more than four times the legal limit.

He was issued a 12 month instant loss of licence and his car was impounded. He will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
