Eagles soar straight through to the GF in Great Southern Women's Football

McLaren Districts are through to the 2024 Grand Final after defeating minor premier Willunga by 18 points in the Great Southern Football League (GSFL) ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition Qualifying Final at Strathalbyn yesterday. The Eagles got off to a good start to lead by 21 points at halftime. The second half was pretty even as McLaren Districts won 5.5 (35) to 2.5 (17). Sheena Peters and Layla Rogers kicked two goals each for the Eagles, while their best players included Katrina Munzberg, Lisa Whiteley, Rogers, Caitlin Ross, Josephine Hoare and Ally Bailey. Best for the Demons were Cleo Guilfoyle, Stella Hockham, Ada Anninos, Kirstin Remfrey, Jessica Kirk and Tamara Page.


Goolwa/Port Elliot will take on Willunga in the Preliminary Final this Sunday after defeating Yankalilla/Encounter Bay by 53 points in the Elimination Final yesterday. The Magpies led throughout to win 8.7 (55) to 0.2 (2). Indigo Miller and Indiana Quaremba kicked two goals each for Goolwa/Port Elliot and their best players were Miller, Kalani Bates, Ellie Fry, Amber McKinlay, Caitlin Curyer and Kerrie-Ann Moon. Best for the Stingrays included Sienna Bull, Kelesha Rewiti-Edwards, Tyler Rigney-Garrett, Bella Walden, Kimberly Robinson and Mahli Littlely.
