Eagles soar to first victory in KI Football

Dudley United won their first game of the season after defeating Parndana by 115 points during round four action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. The Eagles won 23.11 (149) to 5.4 (34) with Sam Willson kicking seven goals for the victors. He was ably supported by Mitchell Charlton who kicked five goals, while Ronan Wood slotted four majors. Best players for Dudley United were Keenan Jacobs, Toby Wheaton, Sam Willson, Kayne Wheaton and Brody Florance. Best for the Roosters included Eli Kuchel, Zach Trethewey and Isaac Trethewey.


Wisanger consolidated their spot in the top-two with a five-point win against reigning premier Kingscote. Kingscote started well to lead by 21 points at quarter time, and were still in front by 19 points at the long break. However, the Panthers finished strongly in the second half, kicking six goals to two, to win 8.15 (63) to 8.10 (58). Khyal Stead (3) and Brok Viney-Obst (2) were the multiple goalkickers for Wisanger, while Anthony Anderson (3) and Paul Green (2) were the leading goalkickers for Kingscote. Liam Sampson, Jayden Kingi, Brodee Williams, Jesse Rule and Nicholas Shurven were named best players for Wisanger. Best for Kingscote included Zak Siemer, Thomas Mitchell, Jack Grimes, Luke Mackie and Anthony Anderson.
