Dudley United have skipped a game clear on top of the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) ladder following their 37-point win over previously undefeated Wisanger at Penneshaw on Saturday. The clash between the two top sides in the competition lived up to expectations for the first three quarters with Dudley United hanging on to a six-point lead at the last change. Dudley United really turned it on for their home fans in the last quarter as they kicked 8.3 to 3.2 to win a high-scoring affair, 20.12 (132) to 15.5 (95). Kyron Pepper kicked five goals for the Eagles with support from Brodie Howard and Clayton Willson who each kicked four goals. Luke Shurven was a star up forward for Wisanger as he kicked eight goals to take his season tally to 14 from three games. Sam McLeay, Nathan Dickson, Edward Colley, Matthew Houchin and Brent Kirby were named best players for the undefeated Eagles. Wisanger’s best were Shurven with his eight majors, Liam Sampson, Brodee Williams, Dustin Cross and Brok Viney-Obst.
Parndana won their second game of 2021 with a convincing 54-point win against Western Districts at Parndana. The Roosters kicked an inaccurate 11.19 (85) to the Saints’ 5.1 (31). Nathan Trethewey, James Davis, Ben Gaskin and Jarrad Kelly all kicked two goals for Parndana. Trad McCulkin, Ben Gaskin, Mahaki Edwards, Nathan Trethewey and Zac Trethewey were best for Parndana. Dylan Lockett was best for Western Districts and he was well supported by Henry Riggs, Lachlan Florance, Adam Robson and Scott Hammat.
