Eagles wrap up double chance in Great Southern Women's Football

Reigning premier McLaren Districts sewed up the double chance after defeating Victor Harbor by 56 points during round 11 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Victor Harbor last Friday night. Akira Whelan, Abby Woodward and Krystal Boileau kicked two goals each for the Eagles as they won 8.8 (56) to 0.0 (0). Best players for McLaren Districts included Layla Rogers, Cadence Bryowsky, Lelia Barker, Makenzie Bryowsky, Charlotte Watson and Mia Hamilton. Best players for the ‘Roos were Olivia Nobbs, Jaimee Millard, Skye Kartinyeri-Sumner, Danika Millard, Tyla Millard and Lucy Rubie.


Willunga continued their undefeated season with a comfortable 63-point win against Myponga-Sellicks at Willunga yesterday. The win was set up in the first quarter as the Demons led by 35 points at the first change, before going on to win 9.12 (66) to 0.3 (3). Jessica Kirk kicked five goals for Willunga, bringing her season tally to 37 majors, while their best players were Cleo Guilfoyle, Tamara Page, Bella Rigby, Kirk, Caitlin Radbone and Ada Anninos. Best players for the Mudlarks included Kimberley Gilbert, Sarah Stanbury, Lily-Rose Garner and Chloe Boileau.


Yankalilla/Encounter Bay were handed a 60-point win after Goolwa/Port Elliot forfeited.
