Kangaroo Island council will launch its new booking system for camping and mooring in time for the school holidays on Monday 30 September.
The user-friendly booking system will apply to council camping areas and Christmas Cove Mooring.
It features enhanced functionality and convenience, with new signage installed at all locations that include QR codes for easy access.
“Camping has increased significantly in popularity in the past few years, resulting in many campgrounds becoming over-crowded at peak times,” Mayor Michael Pengilly says.
“This has caused negative camping experiences, inability for visitors to find a spot at campgrounds, and significant environmental concerns.
“This system acts to reduce these issues and ensures that people who book campgrounds can stay in those campgrounds and experience all the Island has to offer.”
The updated system aims to simplify booking by guaranteeing spaces and reducing overcrowding.
Bookings can still be made via the Kangaroo Island council website, which has full details of the seven campgrounds across the island.
