Mount Compass Community Resilience group will host an Emergency Preparedness Day next Sunday 27 October, as part of the Red Cross Redi Communities Program.

The aim is to support the local community to take positive steps towards preparing themselves and their families for the bushfire season.

There will be two Country Fire Service Bushfire Blitz sessions as well as youth activities and games.

Virtual Reality goggles will be available to practise preparedness and everyone can test their knowledge with the Red Cross emergency quiz.

Mount Compass CFS volunteers will provide an interactive display with their truck and kids can meet Smokey the koala.

The day will run from 10am to 3pm at Mount Compass War Memorial Hall, with a free sausage sizzle available.
