Morphett Vale won their first game of the season following a 27-point win at Aldinga during round seven action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Aldinga yesterday. The Emus led at every change to triumph 16.10 (106) to 12.7 (79). Morphett Vale had plenty of goalkicking options with Aiden Baker, Blake Carter, Brian Gill, Braydan Hartwig, Khori Mills-Richardson, Stanley Tipiloura and Thaddeus Puautjimi all kicking two goals. Thomas Boreham kicked three goals for the Sharks. Best players for Morphett Vale were Bailey Sowter, Dylan Miller, Robert Schindler-Taylor, Leroy Marsh, Mills-Richardson and Gill. Aldinga were best served by Sam Bentley, Boreham, Angus Stangewitz, Brayden Hooper, Scott O'Dea and Ryan Parry.


Port Noarlunga continued their undefeated season with a 21-point win against local rival Noarlunga. The game was tight in the first half with Noarlunga leading by six points at halftime. The third term would prove decisive as Port Noarlunga kicked four unanswered goals to lead by 17 points at the last change, before going on to win 11.6 (72) to 7.9 (51). Nick Steele (4) and Zac Sproule (3) were the multiple goalkickers for ‘Porties’, while Michael Balas slotted three majors for the Shoes. Billy Cook, Eduard Van den berg, Rhys McKay, Sproule, Joshua Johns and Nathaniel Paredes were named best for the Cockle Divers, while best for Noarlunga included Jamison Snelling, Balas, Terry Kathopoulis, Callum Gaspari and Nick Mott.


Happy Valley consolidated their spot in the top-five after an 11-point win at home against Christies Beach. The win was set-up by a four goal to one third term from the Vikings as they ran out winners 10.8 (68) to 8.9 (57). Cody Cox and Liam Hamilton kicked three goals each for Happy Valley, while Mark Larritt also kicked three goals for the Saints. Best players for Happy Valley were Riley Jarmyn, Matthew Lillis, Rhys Stringer, Tain Smelt, Sam Flett and Sebastian Oliver. The Saints’ best included Michael Mazey, Harry Caught, Jonty Murphy, Ryan Matthews and Thomas Paparella. 


Flagstaff Hill consolidated their spot in the top-three with a convincing 117-point victory against Ironbank Cherry Gardens. ‘Flaggies’ led by 63 points at halftime, before kicking another 13 goals to four in the second half to win 25.12 (162) to 6.9 (45). The Falcons had 10 different goalkickers with Sam Smith leading the way with six majors, while Ryan Mountford kicked five. Brad Kreuger kicked four goals for the Thunderers. Best players for Flagstaff Hill were Aiden Grayson, Sam Smith, Jordan Etto, Caleb McCormick, D’Arcy Mitchell and Brayden Heyward-Ferors. Joshua Brown, Oscar Morgan and Bradley Kreuger were among the best for Ironbank Cherry Gardens. 


Reynella are also looking good for a top-three spot after a comfortable 101-point win against Cove yesterday. The Wine Flies led by 23 points at halftime and exploded in the third quarter, kicking 11 goals to two, to turn for home with a commanding 80-point lead. A further three goals in the last quarter saw Reynella win 21.18 (144) to 6.7 (43). Talon Copley was best-on-ground for the Wine Flies and he was well supported by Sam Whitbread, Bradley Potter, Marc Borholm, Dylan Roser and Harrison Pope. Best for the Cobras included Ryan Need (3 goals), Adam Kleinig and Ethan Willcocks.
