Enthusiastic response to new music festivalsBeccy Cole will play at Arvo on the Oval, one of two new music festivals for the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Festival goers have embraced the return of live music festivals to the Fleurieu.

Folkloria, a new picnic-style blues roots and folk festival in McLaren Vale has sold out. It will be held on Sunday 1 November at Simon Hackett Winery.

In a post on the Folkloria Facebook page on 5 October, organisers said the event had "sold out (for now)", adding they were hopeful more tickets could be released in a couple of weeks' time, as more space was being created at the winery.

Folkloria’s artist lineup features Timberwolf, Tom West, The Yearlings, B.S Roberts (Ukulele Death Squad), AP D'Antonio, Alana Jagt, Cal Williams Jr, Courtney Robb and Snooks La Vie, and Thoma Henbest.

Attendees may bring their own picnics (but no BYO drinks), and there will also be food and beverages available to purchase at the winery.

Meanwhile, tickets for an event run by the team from Fleurieu Folk Festival are also being snapped up.

Less than 220 tickets remain for Arvo on the Oval, an alcohol-free event being held at Willunga Recreation Park on Saturday 21 October.

Running from 1pm until the early evening, the concert will feature country star Beccy Cole, jazz and cabaret performer - and Beccy’s wife - Libby O’Donovan, South Australian country singer-songwriter Amber Joy Poulton, and local blues guitar legend Chris Finnen.
