Get those decorations out of the shed and start talking to your neighbours because entries are now open for the Onkaparinga Mayor’s Light Display Competition.

Residents can enter their home in the Best Single Home category or band together and enter to see if they can be judged Best Street. Residents can enter for both categories.

Entry forms are available online and at City of Onkaparinga council offices and libraries.

Entries will close on Friday 26 November and judging will take place between 1 – 14 December.

All entrants will be encouraged to have their light displays on between 8pm and 11pm during the judging period.

The Best Street winner last year was Keane Court in Old Reynella and the best single house was at 67 Emmerson Drive in Morphett Vale.

The City of Onkaparinga will also hold a Twilight Christmas Fair from 3–7pm on Sunday 5 December at Bice Oval in Christies Beach.

The fair will feature free entertainment, a visit from Santa, market stalls and food vendors. The City is expecting about 4000 people to attend.

Other councils on the Fleurieu are also scheduling Christmas Events with the District Council of Yankalilla bringing back the successful Carols in Your Car on 12 December.

The Victor Harbor Council will hold a Christmas Pageant on 11 December at Morgan Park which will be followed by Carols by the Sea.
