The board of Business Victor Harbor (BVH) has announced the appointment of its first Executive Officer.

Colin Shearing is the former CEO of the SA Independent Retailers Association and has more than 30 years’ experience in executive management roles and industry leadership.

BVH chairman MIchael Schubert says Colin Shearing delivers an outstanding package and array of industry knowledge, strong networks and government relations at all levels.

“We are delighted to appoint Colin Shearing as our inaugural Executive Officer, which initially will be a part-time position.”

He says Mr Shearing is already well connected with several of the region’s industry and community networks including retail, wholesale, personal services, hospitality, tourism, motor trades, building & construction and employment, training & education.

“Business Victor Harbor is confident that Colin’s leadership will create and maintain strong stakeholder partners at the strategic level and generate innovative approaches to add significant value and towards growing member satisfaction.”

Mr Shearing has contributed his skills to the Premier’s Industry Response & Recovery Covid-19 committee and the Single-use Plastic Legislation Taskforce.
