Each month the National Parks and Wildlife Services of South Australia showcase one of the states National Parks. This is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of our special natural places and to find new ways to enjoy them.
Each month there are a variety of events for everyone to enjoy, many of them are free. You can learn more about a park direct from the park ranger, have an adventure and explore a park in a different way with activities such as rock climbing, kayaking and mountain biking, chill out in nature with yoga and forest bathing, hear about the cultural history and join in conservation efforts to protect and conserve national parks for future generations.
This month is about celebrating the Coorong National Park as the Park of the Month.
Not only is it the home of Storm Boy, the Coorong National Park protects a vast wetland of international importance and the fragile dune systems of the Younghusband Peninsula. There is something for all ages and interests in the Coorong. The serenity, the sheer diversity, and the proximity to Adelaide make it an immensely popular park. Visitors come for bird watching, boating, kayaking, fishing, camping, walking, four-wheel driving and European and cultural history.
This November there is a packed program of events and special offers to showcase this wonderful park. Many of the events have limited tickets, so book early so you don’t miss out!
