Falcons back on top in the Southern Football League

Flagstaff Hill won their seventh ‘A’ grade premiership in eight years in the Southern Football League (SFL) after defeating Noarlunga by 59 points yesterday. The win completed an undefeated (18-0) season for the Falcons under first-year coach Zane Kirkwood. The Falcons previously won six flags in a row between 2016-2021. Yesterday, ‘Flaggies’ won every quarter on their way to a 16.11 (107) to 7.6 (48) triumph. Sam Smith (5), Sam Jacobs (3) and Nathan Beenham (2) were the multiple goalkickers for the Falcons, while Jaidan Kappler and Jake Anderson kicked two goals each for the Shoes. Former Carlton and Adelaide ruckman Jacobs was named best-on-ground, and he received excellent support from Michael Shearer, Smith, Adam Bunworth, Brad Kirk and Beenham. Best players for Noarlunga included Zac Williams, Anderson, Jarrad Liebelt and Josh Beard.
