Flagstaff Hill consolidated their spot in the top-four after defeating Hackham by 87 points during round nine action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Hackham yesterday. The Falcons led by 38 points at halftime, before kicking a further seven unanswered goals in the second half to win 13.9 (87) to 0.0 (0). Jessica Couch and Amber Cloughessy kicked four goals each for the Falcons, while their best players were Rachel Crockart, Chloe Meyers, Brooke Watson, Elise Winton, Nicole O'Connor, Cloughessy. Best for the Hawks included Charlotte Carter, Nevara Richards, Alisha MacFadyen, Alana Browne, Melissa Belmont, Shayley MacFadyen.
Cove won their fifth game of the season following a comfortable 76-point win against Ironbank Cherry Gardens. The Cobras led throughout to win 10.18 (78) to 0.2 (2). Emily Risitano (4), Ella Gill (2) and Jaime Norup (2) were the leading goalkickers for Cove. The Cobras had plenty of good players including Norup, Angelique Dean, Gill, Dana O'Brien, Breanna Stoldt and Brittnie Edwards. Best players for the Thunderers were Olivia Walker-Obushak, Tahlia Ward, Cassandra Wilson, Audrey Myers, Josie Harris and Fern van Loon-Thomson.
Reynella won their round 9 clash after Noarlunga unfortunately forfeited their game yesterday.
