Falcons premiership defense on-track in the Southern Football League Women's competition

Flagstaff Hill consolidated second spot on the ladder following their massive 172-point win against Hackham during round eight action in the Southern Football League Women’s ‘A’ grade competition yesterday. The Falcons led by 57 points at quarter time, 98 points at halftime and 145 points at the last change, before winning 25.22 (172) to 0.0 (0). ‘Flaggies’ had 14 different goalkickers including Brooke Kleinig and Carli Morton who kicked four goals each. Best players for the Falcons were Morton, Kleinig, Elouisa Thomas, Meghan Bell and Alana Baker. Best for Hackham included Sarah Noble, Alice Worrall and Jessica Sherry. 


Port Noarlunga won their fifth game of the season with a tough 20-point win against Aldinga at ‘Porties’. In a low-scoring encounter, Port Noarlunga won 3.6 (24) to 0.4 (4). Shakira Dolman, Teegan Mesecke and Amy Slattery were the goalkickers for the Cockle Divers, while their best players included Bree Chapman, Chrysti Flevill, Kaiya Ivett, Jolie Malinowski and Phillipa Worthley. Best for Aldinga were Eilish O’Hanlon, Kimberly Robinson, Ayla Regione, Amber O’Hanlon and Ebony Chapman.


Reynella remained undefeated through eight rounds after defeating Christies Beach by 32 points yesterday. The ladder-leading Wine Flies had 17 scoring shots to five, but kicked an inaccurate 5.12 (42) to 1.4 (10). Caitlin Williams kicked two goals for Reynella, while Neriah Mills kicked the only goal for the Saints. Zannah Loxton, Sarah Bourn, Williams, Emily Franklin and Olivia Gallio were named best players for Reynella. For ‘Christies’, Melanie Koster, Jordan Bousfield, Makailah Gort, Rachael Farlam and Daisy Crowe were the best players for Christies Beach.
