Flagstaff Hill went to the top of the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition ladder after a comprehensive 111-point win over Christies Beach during round 14 action at Bice Oval today. The Falcons led by 15 points at quarter time, 60 points at halftime, and 75 points at the final change, before winning 16.16 (112) to 0.1 (1). Jessica Couch kicked seven goals for ‘Flaggies’, while Brooke May and Ebony Scanlan kicked two goals each. Best players for Flagstaff Hill included Scanlan, May, Abbie Butler, Tiana Lush, Melanie Koster and Ava Knuckey. Best for the Saints were Chloe Brooks, Bella Wheatley, Madison Marsh, Tara Vivar-Hayes, Maisie Hunt and Georgia Payne.
Aldinga won their third game of the season after defeating Ironbank Cherry Gardens by 11 points this afternoon. Ironbank Cherry Gardens led by two points at the last change, before Aldinga kicked three goals to one in the last quarter to win 6.7 (43) to 4.8 (32). Cara Fry and Taryn Vizgaudis kicked two goals each for the Sharks, while Jesse Smith also kicked two majors for the Thunderers. Best players for Aldinga included Fry, Zoe De Kievit, Audrey Worthley, Daisy Barber, Vizgaudis and Molly Reynolds. Smith was named best for Ironbank Cherry Gardens with good support from Olivia Walker-Obushak, Tahlia Ward, Estelle McPhee and Jesse Grigg.
Cove consolidated their position in the top-three with a 21-point win against Blackwood on Friday night. The Cobras led at every change before winning 5.4 (34) to 2.1 (13). Eve Disley kicked two goals for Cove, while Amber Cloughessy also kicked two goals for Blackwood. Ashleigh Need was named best for the Cobras and she received good support from Emily Hocking, Lauren Kenny, Charlotte Bandt, Angelique Dean and Alexis Harvey. Best for the Woods included Lara Higgins, Rileigh Abbott, Caitlin Hill, Lily Brook, Jaymie Cobby and Charlotte Rungie.
Reynella won their seventh game of 2025 following a comprehensive 124-point win against Hackham on Friday night at Reynella. Neive Morgan with eight goals and Sarah Bourn with six majors were the stars up forward for the Wine Flies as they won 19.17 (131) to 1.1 (7). Chelsea Parsons was the sole goalkicker for the Hawks. Best players for the Wine Flies were Jasmine Bailey, Latysha Jackson, Morgan, Elysia Hammond, Sienna Garner and Summer Weir. Hackham was best served by Olivia Cumming, Shayley MacFadyen, Alisha MacFadyen, Natasha Robertson, Emily Unger and Chelsea Parsons.
