Farmers Market goes twilight for Christmas

The Victor Harbor Farmers Market will take a break on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December.

Instead it will hold a twilight market on Tuesday 22 December, from 4pm to 7pm, to enable shoppers to stock up on Christmas goodies.

Chair and market manager Neil Hosking says the market has adapted well to the challenges posed by COVID-19 this year.

“We were disappointed to have to cancel the market for the first time in its 12 year history when the whole state shut down at the end of November.

“But we have bounced back and are ticking all the boxes with our COVID Safe plan and QR code check-in points.”

As well as fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, dairy, bread and seafood, the twilight market will offer handmade chocolate, crackers, Greek food and an array of cakes, including Christmas treats.

A classical guitar duo, brothers Alex and Jerry, will provide live music from the rotunda.

The Victor Harbor Farmers Market is held in Grosvenor Gardens every Saturday from 8am to 12.30pm.

It will reopen as usual for the New Year on Saturday 2 January. For more information visit the website or Facebook page.
