Police are investigating a fatal crash at Meadows overnight.

Just after 11pm on Thursday 15 October, patrols and emergency services were called to Brookman Road, after a fuel tanker left the road and rolled before catching on fire.

The driver and sole occupant, a 59-year-old man from Echunga, sadly died at the scene.

Investigators from Major Crash attended the scene and Brookman Road will be closed for most of today between Morris Road and Hammersmith Drive while crews carry out repairs to the road surface.

The man's death is the 70th life lost on our roads as compared to 86 for this time last year.
