A man has died in a crash on Kangaroo Island.

Just before 7.30pm on Wednesday 20 April, police were called to the Playford Highway near Bark Hut Road at Kohinoor, after reports that a Mitsubishi van had crashed and rolled.

The driver and sole occupant, a 79-year-old man from Parndana died at the scene.

Major Crash officers attended the scene to investigate the incident.

The Playford Highway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

The man’s death is the 24th life lost on South Australian roads, compared to 37 at this time last year.
