Two women have died following a fatal crash at Strathalbyn yesterday afternoon.

Just after 2.30pm on Friday 28 August, emergency services were called to Long Valley Road, about 4km north of Strathalbyn, after two cars collided head on.

Sadly the driver of a Mazda sedan, a 70-year-old woman from Strathalbyn, died at the scene. 

The passenger, an 84-year-old woman from Strathalbyn, was flown to Flinders Medical Centre in a critical condition, but died a short time later.

The driver of a Holden Commodore sedan, a 43-year-old man from Mount Barker, was conveyed to Mount Barker hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Major Crash investigators are on scene.

There have been 63 lives lost on our roads compared to 75 at the same time last year.
