Febi Mansell stars for Stingrays Women

Southern Districts second grade women had a strong win in round two of the SACA Premier Cricket 40-over competition as they downed Adelaide University by five wickets at Bice Oval on Sunday. Buoyed by their convincing Twenty20 grand final win, the Stingrays demolished Uni’s top order to leave them reeling at 5/10. A dogged innings of 20 from Karin Prince at least staved off the inevitable before they were bowled out for just 45 in the 25th over. The Stingrays’ Febi Marshall continued her amazing run of form to snare the barely believable figures of 6/3 from six overs! Mansell took 6/5 in the Twenty20 grand final last week. Alecia Holt provided good support with 2/17 (6.1). The run chase wasn’t without drama as five wickets fell but Sheridan Howell steadied the ship with 39 not out from 51 balls (5 x 4’s) as the runs were knocked off in the 14th over. The first grade had the bye this round.

Next Sunday the first grade travel to Parkinson Oval to take on Kensington in a re-match of the Twenty20 grand final while the second grade take on Sturt at Unley Oval.
