Spring has sprung and the Fleurieu Coast will make the most of longer days with its Festival of Nature, part of a state-wide celebration of the outdoors.

Organised by the District Council of Yankalilla, in collaboration with the Fleurieu Environment Centre, the Fleurieu Coast festival will run from 7 to 15 October.

It promises to be a week of immersive, creative, and thought-provoking experiences that enjoy the natural wonders of the region.

Offering more than 35 events and experiences, the Festival of Nature - Fleurieu Coast is set to be a highlight of the spring  calendar. 

It will explore critical themes of cultural awareness, sustainability, and environmental consciousness, providing inspiring ideas to ponder and exciting activities to join in. 

The festival will be an opportunity for everyone to connect with nature and the community in a variety of unique ways.

One of the main attractions is the inclusion of kid-friendly activities during the school holidays. 

Families can engage in adventures such as the Reef Ramble, Farm Feeding Time Tours @ Lessismore Farm, Virtual 3D Underwater Experience, and Painting with Flowers. 

It's a chance for young minds to connect with the natural world in an educational and fun-filled manner.

A signature event of the festival is the Sustainable Living Expo scheduled for Sunday 8 October at the Yankalilla Showgrounds.

This year's expo promises to be bigger and better than ever, featuring engaging presentations, informative workshops, live music, delicious food and beverages and children's activities.

It will provide the opportunity to plan an entire week of exploration along the Fleurieu Coast, taking in all the festival's events.
