A feature film crew landed on Kangaroo Island this weekend to make a film about the island.
The production titled ‘Kangaroo Island’ started on Friday 24 November and filming will continue until mid-December.
The film has a cast and crew total over 60 people, predominantly from Adelaide and Kangaroo Island, and will showcase the Island’s iconic beaches and landscapes.
It was developed by Director and Producer Tim Piper and his wife Sally Gifford, who have a property at Stokes Bay.
A comedy-drama, the film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and Adelaide Film Festival in 2024.
The Kangaroo Island council meeting on Thursday 23 November authorised several temporary road closures across the island to facilitate filming.
Film locations will include Dudley East, Kingscote, Emu Bay and Pennington Bay.
Full details of dates and times of road closures can be found on the KI council website.
