The South Coast Regional Art Centre will host Alexandrina Botanica, a solo exhibition by Jane Hylton, as a part of South Australian Living Artists (SALA) festival in August.
Endless horizons around Jane’s Hindmarsh Island Kumerangk home are defined by the ceaseless movement of water and immense skies.
This vastness and the vegetation of the region’s wetlands, scrub and bushland, native grasses and her own garden are all an infinite source of inspiration for botanical studies and paintings.
This free, accessible community event opens on Thursday 3 August, with a formal launch at 2pm on Saturday 5 August.
South Coast Regional Art Centre, in Goolwa, is open Wednesday to Friday 11am to 4pm and Saturday to Sunday 10am to 4pm.
The Alexandrina Botanica exhibition runs until Sunday 17 September.
The Fleurieu is always a huge part of the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) festival, with hundreds of events across the region starting from Tuesday 1 August.
The major towns of Goolwa, McLaren Vale, Strathalbyn and Victor Harbor host many events, but there are gems to be found in Second Valley, Clayton Bay, Langhorne Creek, Mount Compass, Kuitpo and on Kangaroo Island.
The full SALA program of exhibitions, workshops, tours and open studios can be found on the website, while Fleurieu and KI events have their own page.
