First draw of the season in the GSFL Women's competition

Myponga-Sellicks and Yankalilla/Encounter Bay played out a low-scoring draw during round 12 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Encounter Bay last Friday night. The teams could not be separated as they finished on 1.2 (8) apiece. Nari Wright, Tayte Mathewson, Grace Deacon, Charlie Shaw-Mcmillan, Brianah Kennewell and Mandy Gay were named best for the Mudlarks with Sarah Stanbury kicking their only goal. The Stingrays’ best included Czenya Cavouras, Jaimi Griffen, Rhiannon Gaythwaite-Cotton, Eve Jansen, Taylor Haywood and Lucy Pearce, while Tanya Littlely kicked their solitary major. 


McLaren Districts won their 10th game of the season following their 42-point victory against Goolwa/Port Elliot at McLaren Vale last Friday night. The Eagles led by nine points at halftime, before kicking five unanswered goals in the second half to win 7.8 (50) to 1.2 (8). Caitlin Ross, Kiera Harvey, Mia Dunn, Cadence Bryowsky, Esther Rayner and Makenzie Bryowsky were named best for McLaren Districts, while the Magpies were best served by Lily Jenke, Rachel Wood, Annabel Cameron, Lilli Mitchell, Lucy Earl and Ellie Fry.


Willunga remained undefeated with three rounds left before finals after a 62-point win over Victor Harbor at Willunga yesterday. The Demons won every quarter on their way to a 8.14 (62) to 0.0 (0) victory. Bella Rigby kicked two goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Jessica Kirk also kicked two goals. Joining Rigby in the best players for Willunga included Cleo Guilfoyle, Emma Leask, Jodie Hunt, Sarah Wright and Caitlin Radbone. Best players for Victor Harbor were Olivia Nobbs, Jaimee Millard, Zoe Bartholomaeus, Tyla Millard, Lauren Cousins and Chloe Byrne.
