Recreational fishers in South Australia have been asked to donate their filleted Australian Salmon frames for research from 1 July until 30 September 2020.
Fish frames are the filleted skeletons with head, tail and guts still intact.
Scientists from the South Australian Research and Development Institute’s (SARDI) Aquatic Sciences division will study the donated fish frames to obtain important information on the size, age, growth and reproductive characteristics of Australian Salmon from across South Australia.
- By donating filleted Australian Salmon frames, recreational fishers will help to improve biological knowledge on this iconic species in local waters and ensure a sustainable Australian Salmon fishery for the future.
- Those who get involved will be in the running to win great prizes.
- It’s easy to donate your filleted Australian Salmon frames:
