Kangaroo Island Council has declared the Kingscote Tidal Pool as a No Fishing Zone following community feedback.

The No Fishing Zone applies inside the tidal pool only and fishing into the pool is not allowed, with the council saying this change will help improve safety and enjoyment for all tidal pool users.

Fishing is still allowed from the walkway around the tidal pool; from the rock wall; and into the ocean, as these areas are outside the designated No Fishing Zone.

This decision was made at the council meeting held on 11 November and the council has thanked everyone who shared their concerns and helped bring the issue forward.
