Flagstaff Hill show who's boss in the Southern Football League

Reigning premier Flagstaff Hill went top of the ladder following a comprehensive 62-point victory against the previously undefeated Reynella Wine Flies during round seven action in the Southern Football League (SFL) on Saturday. It was a tight first half with Flagstaff Hill holding sway to lead by 10 points at halftime. It was all the reigning premier after halftime as they booted 13 goals to five to win 18.10 (118) to 8.8 (56). The Falcons had plenty of avenues to goal with 11 different goalkickers, led by Bradley Patterson who slotted three majors. Callan Semple also kicked three goals for Reynella. Mitchell Johnson, Patterson, Sam Tharaldsen, David Kearsley and Brayden Heyward-Ferors were best for the rampant Falcons while for Reynella, Bailey England, Steven Farrelly and Robert Irra were among their best.

The Vikings led by 30 points at quarter time, 79 points at halftime and 129 points at the last change before winning 31.7 (193) to 4.4 (28). ‘The Valleys’ had 12 different goalkickers including Ben Geytenbeek, Dwayne Ruddock and Liam Hamilton, who all kicked six majors. Zach Young kicked two goals for the Sharks. Joel Beeche was named best on ground for Happy Valley and he was well supported by Hamilton, Jaxon McGregor-Dey, Ben Ryan and Tyson Stewart. Aldinga were best served by Angus Stangewitz, Michael Klocke and Byron Sumner.

The win was set up by a seven-goal second term from the Cockle Divers which saw them take a 49-point lead into halftime.
