Flagstaff Hill through to the SFLW Grand Final after win over Christies Beach

Flagstaff Hill are the first team through to the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) grand final after defeating minor premier Christies Beach by 15 points on Sunday in the second semi-final. Flagstaff Hill led by six points at quarter time, 14 points at halftime and 23 points at the last change before winning 3.6 (24) to 1.3 (9). It was the first loss of the season for Christies who will face off with Reynella this Sunday to try and earn another crack at the Falcons in the grand final.

Reigning back-to-back premiers Cove have been knocked out of the finals race, going down to Reynella by 10 points at Morphett Vale. It was a tight and low scoring first half with Cove going into halftime with a slender three point lead. Reynella came out after the long break and kicked the only two goals of the game to take a handy 12-point lead into the final quarter before winning 2.5 (17) to 0.7 (7). Georgia Pennifold, Olivia Gallio, Emma James, Anja Bancevic, Ella Besley and Sarah Bourn were best players for the Wine Flies while Lauren Kenny, Dana O’Brien, Alana Tuohy-Lashmar, Renee Ullrich, Jaime Norup and Lara Ward were best for the Cobras.
