Flagstaff Hill won the premiership in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition following a 21-point win against Reynella at Aldinga Oval yesterday. Flagstaff Hill dominated play in the first term but couldn’t convert as they kicked seven behinds to no score. The second quarter was a real arm wrestle with the Falcons kicking a solitary behind to lead by eight points at halftime. Despite not scoring in the first half, the Wine Flies were still in the game but Flagstaff Hill put the game to bed in the ‘premiership quarter’ as they kicked three goals to none to turn for home with an unassailable 28-point lead. Reynella finally hit the scoreboard in the last quarter to kick 1.1 to no score but Flagstaff Hill eventually won 3.10 (28) to 1.1 (7). Soriah Moon was named best on ground for Flagstaff Hill and she was ably supported by Tamsyn Morriss, Hannah Griffin, Carli Morton, Shay’Lee Dayman and Chloe Meyers. For Reynella, Georgia Pennifold, Anja Bancevic, Natasha Gordon, Zannah Loxton and Brina Thompson battled hard.

In other grades, Happy Valley won the under 17’s by defeating Christies Beach by 65 points and Christies Beach won the under 14’s with a 61-point win over Reynella.
